EndHunger 3.6 began six years ago as a project for the Madison Rotary Club.
Started as a volunteer based food packaging and distribution event in its first year it distributed over fifty thousand meals to local agencies.
With food insecurity a continuing problem the project continued to grow doubling every year. The last full packaging event attracted a thousand volunteers and distributed two hundred and fifty thousand meals, involved over thirty other Rotary Clubs and gave food to dozens of agencies, throughout the nine NJ counties that comprise Rotary International District 7475.
Due to the pandemic the project combined packaging and pre-boxed distribution. It was able to distribute more than one million meals to needy agencies in twelve counties.
We are planning a combination of community packaging events, in March 2022, as well as pre-boxed distribution. Hoping to exceed our one million meal mark.
